eBags Junior Weekender Review (in Pictures)
When it comes to traveling, luggage is important. Blogs, books, articles, and podcasts have been produced to support the hunt for good luggage. I’ve been searching for years for the right line up and I’m still working on it. In the realm of travel, there are several pieces that are needed in your travel complement. What those pieces are depend almost entirely on what type of traveler you are.
I fall into the carry-on only category. That means that I prefer to not check a bag, even when it is included in my ticket price. Call me paranoid, but I don’t like my stuff out of my sight. That being said, flying with the eBags brand Junior Weekender backpack has been a game changer for me. Let me show you why.

EXTERNAL FEATURES
Backpack
Portability is most important to me and this bag has it. Weaving through crowded stations, running to catch the last train, and hopping out of the cab on a busy street are all easy with this bag on your back.
Quick Access Pocket
I use this pocket to stash boarding passes and hotel reservation paperwork when I travel. It is easy to get into and quick to access, but don’t put your valuables in here. It does not lock.
Convertibility
This bag can be a backpack, a handled bag, or a duffel! Straps are conveniently included for swapping the configuration around.
Stowable Straps
The straps from this backpack will detach from the anchor points at the bottom and completely stow into a zipper pocket to make it easier to load into overhead compartments.
3 Grab Handles
To ease maneuverability, this bag has 3 separate grab handles that make it really easy to manipulate the bag. One on the top, one of the front at the bottom, and one on the side in the middle.
Compression Straps
I LOVE this feature! I can pack everything in this bag and then squish it even smaller using these.
Large Front Pocket
It goes without saying that pockets are important and this one is well organized.
Forehead Pocket
This is a quirky and interesting application of a pocket that I use often. It is a great place to store toiletries when you’re in the airport.
Hooks & Snaps
There are various hooks & snaps all over the outside of this bag and I use them to attach things to with hooks when needed.
Stowable Water Bottle Pocket
This is a useful feature, but it isn’t very stable. This is the only thing that I am not in love with about this bag.
Durable Zippers & Fabric
These zippers just feel good to open and close. They also allow locks to be installed.
Expansion Feature
Like most wheeled luggage, this bag sports an expansion zipper that will allow you an extra 2 inches of thickness to pack in.
It fits under the seat!
I’m a HUGE carry-on only traveler and this bag fits under the seat in front of you!
INTERNAL FEATURES
Butterfly Design
Laying flat may not be the first thing you think of when shopping for luggage, but it should be!
Retention Straps
It’s nice knowing that when you pack everything into a butterfly opening bag that when you open the bag, your stuff won’t fall everywhere.
Divider Wall
The main compartment features a small divider wall that you can choose to use or not.
Detachable Pouch
This little pouch has been very useful in different ways on every trip. Once, it was a toiletries bag, once it was a miscellaneous camping supplies bag. It’s whatever you need!
Padded Laptop Pocket
Comfortable to carry a heavy 17 inch laptop for several miles while wearing.
Mesh Dress Pocket
This large mesh zip-in section is great for dress slacks or dresses.
Key Leash
I don’t know about you, but when I go on vacation, I don’t usually worry about where my keys are until I get back. By then, I’ve lost them. Not with this feature!
Designed by Travelers
When you get a chance, go to their website and watch the video covering the features of this bag. If you are reading this review, then you are shopping around. Look no further, this is probably the bag for you.
